Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was a return to a traditional sextet style, and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's greater ability on the drums and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper, and less derivative than on previous efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
