WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. The item level upgrade used to upgrade the item upgrader kit will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of The button will show the item level Upgrade's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
