WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade items gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item upgrader mod however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar Best item upgrader, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Crests

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
