Top Robot Vacuums Robot and Mop Combos

Robots aren't so good at removing particles like metal screws or pieces of pasta. But they're excellent at brushing away pet hair, dust, and food particles. The best models feature smart navigation technology and object avoidance features that allow them to maneuver around cords, toys and other household obstacles.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a great robot vacuum that has several smart robot features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most expensive robot vacuum useful features we've seen on an iRobot, and it works well on both hard floors and carpets. It's also easy to install and use and the app will guide you through the process step-by-step. Another feature that is impressive is its ability to return to the spot where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning, before running out of battery.

Unlike some of the other robovacs we've test, the i3+ EVO features self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and keeps the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

This model, like the i7, uses cutting-edge floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It can also allow you to navigate through neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, while the i7 has the capacity to store multiple maps. The i7 also has the ability to utilize its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO cannot.

Although the i3+ EVO is better at picking up dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at, it's not the best automatic floor cleaner for cleaning corners and edges. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and was stuck to cords and toys during testing.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

If you're looking to increase your collection of robot vacuums, or just beginning your journey with the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs serious power, smart navigation and easy automation into a sleek design at an affordable price. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model currently available and is even better than Roborock's higher-priced models in many ways.

This robot is great in cleaning floors that are dirty, and its avoidance tech assists it in staying clear of furniture legs or other obstacles. It also excels on carpets and scores an excellent score in our tests of navigation. It's only downside is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't do as well in our owner-satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin of 770ml, meaning that you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. Its 240-minute runtime is extremely generous when compared to other models we've examined. If the battery is empty it returns to its dock and automatically recharges, before starting cleaning where it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This, in conjunction with other advancements, allows it to do exceptionally well in our vacuuming and mopping tests. It is possible to schedule cleanings and set up no-go zones. You can also view the battery status. The app is easy to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in the beginning of November to reflect that this feature has been delayed until 2025. A few other robots aren't compatible with HomeKit, but many of them work with Siri Shortcuts.

And the extremely well-designed base station virtually automates the cleaning process. It provides excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.

This model utilizes an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map your home and devise efficient cleaning routes. The iMop excelled in our navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations and was also efficient in getting around obstacles, such as furniture. It's also able to find its way back to the base station which is a great benefit in the event it runs out of battery during cleaning.

It also comes with a spot cleaning mode that allows you to mop or clean a specific area of your floor. It can also be manually programmed to follow a specific route. This is ideal for narrow hallways or stairs. It was capable of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning evaluation, but it struggled with longer pile carpets and rug. It is also able to automatically lift the mop pad whenever it encounters carpet, which is a wonderful feature to not mop your carpets.

The iMop comes with an onboard dust bin as well as a water tank which it is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. The dust bin on board can hold up to 2.5 liters of debris.
