What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Transparent device that can evolve certain Pokemon species. Silph Co. produced it.

The item upgrader adds a brand new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no gameplay benefit other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Boosters

With an item upgrader you can enjoy numerous bonuses. They can include a range of stats, in addition to a number of extra bonuses. These bonuses can be used on armor, weapons and trinkets. They can be used to improve a character's abilities or to add a new element of variety to their appearance.

The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their equipment by paying a currency fee to an upgrader for items. This system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was continued with the arrival of Warlords of Draenor. When an item is improved, its base type will change. Some upgrades also provide a secondary random boost in addition to stat enhancements. These boosts can be very valuable and must be considered when deciding which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts can only be used in specific builds (such the Whistan's Shield, which is for FB Sorcs) While others are valuable to collectors.

Certain items come with inherent boo that is less useful when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap which gives more slots for potion. They are often upgraded to add value to a close-to-perfect or perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades come with a few associated costs. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This price is contingent on the new level of the item and the number of perks it receives and is often expensive. It can also be costly to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The other is the cost of materials needed for an upgrade. The items used are typically either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these items required is available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

The process of upgrading an item is a complex process that requires time. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the Best item Upgrader's new ilvl, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important statistics. In some cases upgrades can provide additional benefits. These perks are offered on a table.

In rare instances the upgrade will only replace the highest-costing perks. The upgrader could also make other changes to the item, such as changing the type of damage it deals to its weapon or eliminating an operational or unwieldy feature. The cost for these modifications is based on the item's current ilvl and it could require a specific material, such as an adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

The process of upgrading an item is based on chance. Like any random system, there is a possibility that it won't succeed. However there are some things that can increase the odds of success. This includes using an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra materials to your upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is an item you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of an upgrade's success by some percentage. This is similar to the luck bonus certain items offer however it is more stable. This can be added to any weapon or armor, and is used three times.

It is also possible to add a variety of additional items to the upgrade, increasing the chance of success. These materials are displayed in a separate window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version of it can be used to increase the likelihood of an upgrade being successful. This item is useful in the event that your item or weapon is nearing or has reached the highest level of its tier. This item allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next tier without the risk of breaking.

If an upgrade fails the upgrade will be reversed to its original state. This is typically an upgrade, but it could also be an upgrade. It is a good idea to save an upgrade for when you're close to the maximum capacity of an item, and use it as an emergency.
