If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumped chain link in the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing can be a bit difficult because there are two connector pins and they have different functions however the best way to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is functional, it should read about 1000 ohms. If you're having issues with this sensor, look for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at full speed I noticed a massive decrease in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning, three were soaked in gasoline, and the fourth was unclean. When I start the engine without sparks, I put a piece of tissue on the top of each of the injector holes, the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay shut. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get 0ohm. I think the issue is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The audi replacement car keys is able to start if the G28 is disconnected and is running fine when it is connected, but still has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. Also i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I don't know what to do. I believe that I've ruled everything else out. But i'm worried that I might have missed something. Please let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal sent from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and both work on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles.
