Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide

Item upgrading is a key element to maximize the potential of your gear. It lets you add bonus stats and bonuses on top of your base level item's value.

Each upgrade template comes with set options which can be changed through the GUI. These options include upgrading reference and upgrading chance.

Upgrade components

As part of the 2.0 update the upgrade system for armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components are available all over Night City, and the item you wish to upgrade must have an upgrade slot available. When you select an item to upgrade the game will display an overview of what the expected statistics will be following upgrading, and the component or material needed. If you don't have the level or resource to upgrade an item, the button will read "Blocked."
