WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade item their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using a The button will display a preview of an item upgrader kit's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current Best item upgrade level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
