However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit costly, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's more expensive and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores.
