Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished by many different methods such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity.
