The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt as well as pet hair and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into narrow corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and works well however it's something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum mop cleaner robot for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic hoovers vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
