Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also boost the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the material or component needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance adding the suffix Glyph will transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from earlier versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item upgrading can only be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up, but the required materials don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will allow the item upgrader mod to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the current level of the item upgrader Mod and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as a benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. You can do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be used in very rare instances.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which can be used to obtain Reroll tokens. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item upgrader kit.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. Each upgraded item may also have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also has a number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is a great way to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all or contain a single element. Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to the level of the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. In general the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will provide a significant increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
