WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade items increases the level of the item Level upgrade by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
