WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrades level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using an button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the Item level upgrade slot and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly.
