Best item upgrader upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain upon upgrading and their relative values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has circular arrows within the item menu. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge differences in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the more health you can get from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the corresponding fountain, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of adversaries in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear they won't replace in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.

After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
