WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an Best item upgrade by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade item will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The cost of upgrades varies based on the Item level Upgrade slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.
