World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of their base. While this is generally an excellent thing but it can also have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.

The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their performance. This can increase the defense base of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with circular arrows within the item menu. This will reroll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has the more value you will get out of each point of health you have and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade item the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of adversaries in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also get some advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to let you stealthy battle certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, when consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item upgrades's Mark Level and Rarity.

To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens an GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade in the event that you take it out again or break the bottle in which it is kept. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the Best item upgrade hover display). The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant like a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying a new one. A player can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer useful, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should also take into account the preferred statistics of their class. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket will have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying the new one.
