WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item upgrades will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item upgrades and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. This is especially relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
