Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old tapes and demos to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans and the band went on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour and an interview with Toto.

Toto has produced many music videos. The group has also released numerous compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the group is "Africa" which has more than one billion views on YouTube. The video takes place in a library, and shows the group performing on top of a pile of books about Africa.

The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by members of the band and was produced by David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe and a variety of other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their popularity after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in America.

Toto embarked on a worldwide tour after the release of their album. The group featured tour musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. In addition guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.
