Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase to the item's base stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that can make your weapons and armor more effective. You can acquire them by destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres, or buying them from karma merchants. You can also salvage them from equipment that has the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item upgrader mod.

Upgrade components are mostly used to upgrade an item, however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. For instance, a specially designed glyph will increase the chance of upgrading its target, and the boost upgrade can boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.

Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item upgrades. This will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Each component has its own experience multiplier, which affects the amount of experience an item will gain when it upgrades with the component. Each item has an upgrade maximum number that can be received. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the type of upgrade they can receive. Sets

Rerolling

A player can play rerolling any item that they acquire in the game if they have enough reroll tokens to do so. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The upgraded item will still have the extra benefits of the previous one however its stats will differ too.

Players can change the identity of their equipment, in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change its identification from a weapon to an armor or reverse it.
