WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrades that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item upgrades has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will cost less even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
