Albums

The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and a number of compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their previous efforts and was criticized for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group The group held auditions for the new frontman.
